First Aid

Strains and Sprains:
Arnica Muscular strain. First remedy taken. Possibly come back to the remedy later on or alternate with other indicated remedies.
Rhus Tox. Joint Sprain, old sprain, ligaments, Capsular Ligaments Recommended for painful stiffness around joints, in ligaments and tendons, Injury feels better with movement.
Ruta Joint Sprain, tendon injury, Wrist sprain, Wrist ganglion, cartilage, kneck or lower back disk injuries. Torn or stretched ligaments and tendons. Recommended after Rhus Tox when swelling and pain have been reduced.
Bryonia Synovial membrane, bursa, joint space, swelling pain, heat redness, stitching pain, recommended when pain increases with all movement.
Calcium carbonate Used for repeated strains and chronic joint injuries.

Most sport injuries fall into this category and it is important that the injury is dealt with effectively the first time so it does not become chronic. One of the key pieces for healing completely and effectively is to stay off of, or not over use the injured part of your body. Avoiding the use of muscle relaxants (Motrin) and painkillers will also help prevent re-injury.
