How do I choose a remedy?
When choosing a remedy start with the person who the remedy is for. This person does not "have a cold". This person has a runny nose that runs clear and does not bother them when they go outside. This person craves water but then only sips it. This person is at their worst at 2 am. This person is really grumpy or "bear like" when talked to.
If you start from the person who "has a cold" the remedy could be almost any of the 100's available to you. But if you start with the person and exactly how they experience dis-ease then all of a sudden you are looking at a few handfuls of remedies. And when you combine all of this information you are then looking at 3 or 4 possible remedies which you can read about and choose from.
Some general guidelines for choosing a remedy are given below. Be sure to also refer to First Aid.
-
Always start with the person and what is particular to them.
-
Focus on the things that effect this person at the deepest level: Their mental attitude, their spiritual well being, their "habits", and what symptoms they exhibit.
-
Always give more weight to anything that is related to the mind/attitude/spiritual or the generalities ("habits" that do not immediately seem to be disease specific).
-
A remedy should fit. If anything in the mind or generalities does not fit take this as a contraindication and keep on looking.
